To give your child the best possible start in life, we recognise
the importance of working closely in partnership with you to ensure that we
create continuity between nursery and home life.
We understand that a child’s family are the first and most
influential people in their life. At nursery, we view our role in the care of
your child as a partnership with parents. To maintain our high standard of
childcare, we place a high value on making time for you to be able to talk to
staff, to discuss the development of your child while helping us to understand
their individual traits and needs.
In addition to daily opportunities to talk with staff, there
are various events throughout the year – such as parents' evenings and social
events. We welcome all parental involvement, including suggestions about how we
can improve the care be provide. We aim to promote the partnership in a variety
of ways and strongly encourage all parents to become involved.
As part of our policy on partnership with parents, we aim

Your child's keyperson
To support your child’s growth and give you a point of
contact in the nursery, each child is allocated a keyperson. They will monitor
and progress your child’s development and ensure that activities within the
nursery are designed to help them grow. Each keyperson will have a buddy –
another member of staff within the room who is able to take over the care,
learning and development of your child if the keyperson is not in that day.
Your child will have a ‘Learning Journey’ folder, which will
be maintained so that staff – with your help and cooperation – can set
appropriate next steps for your child.They keyperson system enables parents and staff
to communicate fully and share information about your child’s progress and
wellbeing, providing secure, consistent care for them. We encourage families to
inform your child’s keyperson of any important or relevant information
regarding them or of any changes that may occur in their life which may have an
influence on their development, feelings or general care.
Tapestry online app
In addition to the communication that you will receive about your child at drop off/pick up time, we use the Tapestry online app to share information with you about your child's development. You will have your own secure login and can access the app through the Tapestry website or by downloading it to your phone or tablet.
We will upload information from your keyworker about your child's progress and information about their day, including how much they have eaten and slept. Photos are also uploaded so you can see your child taking part in exciting activities.
The app also allows two-way communication between the nursery and parents, providing you with another way to share information with us about your child.
The secure service is password protected and parents have control over who can access the information. It is possible to share pictures and information with friends or family and many parents appreciate the ability to send photos of their child via to the app to family in other parts of the world.
