Learning and Development
During the first five years of their life, your child will develop more rapidly than at any other time. We work to ensure that your child achieves their full potential and makes the most of their talents and abilities to ensure that they have the best possible start to life.
Children are natural learners from birth and we recognise that every child will learn and develop differently. Each child is tracked individually by their keyperson, who assesses their stage of development, personal interests and needs in order to plan an enjoyable day based around them. The activities your child enjoy are designed to support their next steps and our learning programme is based around games and fun activities so that children can develop in a happy environment with their friends.
Our staff are all qualified childcare professionals with experience in supporting children to reach their full potential. They are constantly undergoing new training to ensure that we are using the latest techniques and understanding to help your child grow. We have many longstanding members of staff, meaning that they are able to follow your child’s progress as they develop into confident youngsters.
We also know that your child’s development isn’t just confined to their time at nursery, so we work closely with you to understand your child’s individual wants, needs and progress at home. Using this information, we are able to better support your child in their development at nursery.
Supporting each child's development
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, published by the Department for Education. The Framework looks to promote development in seven areas of learning.
The prime areas of learning are particularly important during your child's first three years:
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Physical development
- Communication and language
- Understanding the world
- Expressive art and design
