Our response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The nursery will be reopening to all children from Monday 1 June.

Your child must not come to nursery if they or a member of their household show any symptoms of Covid-19:

> A temperature or fever
> A new persistent cough

We are closely monitoring the developing situation taking measures to keep children, families and staff safe.

As the situation develops we will keep parents updated through the Famly app and posters throughout the nursery. The management team are happy to talk to parents on the telephone about any concerns. This page will be updated with the latest information for parents.

We will continue to provide information to parents over the Famly app to help with their child's learning and development as they meet their individual next steps.

Impact on children
The Department for Education advise that children appear to be less susceptible to infection of the virus than adults. Those children who have caught the disease experience a milder form of the infection.

Experienced and prepared
As a nursery, we are more prepared and experienced than most businesses in handling infectious illnesses. We regularly deal with a range of conditions which are common among young children (such as chicken pox) and therefore we have robust policies in place which are successful in containing illness.

Important information you need to know
We are following all the advice from the local authority, Department for Education and Public Health England.

In line with Government guidance, if your child or any member of your household has the following symptoms your child must not come to nursery for 14 days:

  • A new persistent cough

  • A high temperature (37.8 degrees and above)
Please phone the nursery to let us know - the management team will be happy to answer any questions you have over the phone.

Measures we are taking within nursery
To protect children, families and staff we are asking all parents and visitors to abide by the following measures:

> Parents are requested to avoid any physical contact, including handshakes, with staff.

> Parents are asked not to enter the nursery building. Staff are collecting children from the front door of the nursery upon arrival.

Additionally, we have stopped external visitors from entering the nursery and cancelled trips that might risk interaction with people (such as trips to the museum and shops).
