Grants, Tax Credits & Vouchers
There are several ways that your nursery fees can be reduced - the amount being dependent on parents income, number of children and hours worked. Our nursery managers would be happy to help answer any questions you have an assistance with fees and provide you with more details.
If either or both parents pay income tax and national insurance, you will be able to save money on your nursery fees by making use of the childcare voucher scheme. The exact amount is dependent upon your tax levels and whether one or both parents are able to make use of the voucher scheme. Please ask the nursery manager for more details.
NURSERY GRANT
Any child between the ages of three and five is eligible to receive Nursery Grant - reducing your monthly fees accordingly for up to 15 hours per week. The nursery will claim the grant on your behalf and deduct it from your fees.
WORKING FAMILIES TAX CREDIT
The Working Families Tax Credit provides extra help to those parents in lower paid work with dependent children if they work a minimum of 16 hours per week. The childcare element of the Working Families Tax Credit can pay up to 70% of the cost of registered childcare up to a maximum of £135 per week for one child and £200 for two or more.
For any enquiries on these tax credits, contact the tax credit help line on 0845 300 3900.
Peterborough City Council provide helpful information including a short video to help you with these matters. Please click on this link to learn more.
